Børge Holme is a Principle Technology Developer at Photoncycle, and has been with the company for two years. 

Børge applies his expertise in mechanical and industrial systems to ensure Photoncycle’s solutions are reliable, efficient, and buildable at scale. With experience across engineering, design, and product development, he brings a thoughtful, practical perspective to solving complex system-level challenges and supporting cross-disciplinary collaboration.

What defines success for an engineering team here?

To be successful, we don't only need to understand a particular issue on a theoretical level so we can model it mathematically. We also need to find a good, practical solution which helps us build our product in the best possible way. There are lots of interesting challenges to work with in all parts of our system.

What’s the most exciting technical work happening right now?

We are in the process of finalizing the general architecture of the synthesis loop and storage unit. There are several options to choose between, so we are running lab experiments, computer simulations and theoretical calculations which give us the necessary information to make a good decision.

What makes someone a great colleague on this team?

All current Photoncycle employees are highly skilled and dedicated, but also very good at cooperating, asking questions, accepting new ideas and working towards our common goal of building the Photoncycle machine. A colleague with the same abilities and mindset will be a great asset to our team.
